Goodyear Celebrates “The Goodest Day in Motorsports” with Blimps, Hats & History

This weekend marks the final year the Indy 500, Coca-Cola 600, and Monaco Grand Prix will all occur on the same day—and Goodyear is making it unforgettable.

To celebrate the “Goodest Day in Motorsports,” Goodyear will fly blimps over all three races. Since a Monaco–Indy–Charlotte route isn’t feasible at 73 mph, they’re using three airships—including Germany’s Hugo Eckener.

Goodyear is the only tire brand to win all three races in a single year (21 times!), and is NASCAR’s longest-standing partner. To honor the day, they’re releasing a limited-edition podium hat blending all three race styles and a custom cocktail inspired by each race’s traditions—including Indy’s famous milk.

Bonus: All U.S. airships will fly over Akron the first week of June to celebrate Goodyear’s 100th year of airship operations.
